Choose an event with economic consequences that interests you and then link it to a shifter. Alternatively, choose a shifter that you feel is relevant and associate it with a coronavirus event. There may be other ways to choose your topic. Your essay should include, at least:

1) Description of your chosen event with an IDENTIFICATION and summary of the article that is the basis of your topic. KEEP THIS PART SHORT. It is not the most important part of your essay.

2) Identify your shifter and a. Explain how and why the shifter works IN GENERAL. What are the associated elements of the shifter? Does it shift supply or demand? b. Analyze your event with reference to the chosen shifter. Which direction will the curve shift and how does the event influence the curve? What is your prediction for a new equilibrium price and quantity? You may use a graph and/or discuss it verbally. Use the tools from the lectures and the textbook. You may use outside analytical sources but it is not required. If you do so you must cite. THIS SECTION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR SUBMISSION.
