. Global institutions (i.e. UN, IMF, et al) require the consent and cooperation of their member states. Recently, the United States has withdrawn from several (e.g. WHO and the Paris Climate Accord), threatened to withdraw from others (e.g. WTO and NATO), and choose not to participate in the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Can global institutions effectively carry on without the world’s largest economy, that is, the United States? What might be the alternative consequences for such institutions?

Answer #1

According to the above given statement it is difficult for the institution to carry without the help of world's largest economy i.e THE UNITED STATES. Because the maximum number of financial resources is funded by UNITED STATES. U.S is a developed country.

The consequences that the institution might have to face is not being able to get enough funding. As because U.S is the one country who contributes the majority of the finance to run the institution. Without proper fund it would become difficult for the institution to run smoothly.
