T/F/U. Immigration increases both ALS and ALD. Draw a diagram(s) consistent with your answer

Homework Answers

Answer #1

True.

See it this way-Immigration increases population of a country.Rise in population means rise in aggregate demand. To meet the increase in demand, firms have to increase their total production. To produce more they will demand more labour. So,demand for labour would rise.

Supply of labour also rises because out of the immigrating population,a percentage would be of skilled labour.Immigration causes the number of skilled labour to rise. And therefore, supply for labour rises.

Both the ALS and ALD curve would shift to the right.

Given the following functions F(s), find f(t). Do not enter u(t) as part of your answers, and do not use any truncated decimal approximations to fractions or they will be marked wrong (answers must be exact). E.g., enter (2/3), not 0.666. (a) F(s) = s + 7 /(s(s + 3)(s + 8)) (b) F(s) = (s^2 + s + 6)/( s(s + 1)(s + 8))

T/F/U: Garrett's utility function is U(a,b) = a*b, where a is his consumption of apples and b is his consumption of bananas. If prices and income change in such a way that Garrett's old consumption lies on his new budget line, then Garrett will not change his consumption bundle. (Draw Garrett's budget line and some indifference curves to illustrate your answer.)
