What’s the affects of food waste for the human?

Food wastage leads to both economic as well as environmental cost for the society. The effects of food wastage are as follows:

a. It wastes water - Water is the important element in growing and harvesting of crops. In throwing out food, uncounted gallons of water is wasted.

b. It releases methane- When the wasted food begins to decompose, it releases green house gas, methane in the atmosphere. it adversely affects the earth's climate and temperature.Thus, it might lead to climate change and global warming.

c. It also leads to wastage of oil - Since oil, diesel, fossil fuel etc are used to grow, transport, store and cook food, thus wastage of oil also leads to wastage of oil which is a non-renewable resource.

d.It also leads to wastage of land.

e. It also harms biodiversity. It also leads to destruction of natural habitats of plants and animals.
