The main aim of the government to protect monopolies is to protect the interests of the consumers. There are various ways in which monopoly can be regulated. For instance, regulating through taxation, regulations of the conditions of monopoly, as in the case of natural and regulated monopolies and by anti - trust laws and policies to prevent unfair price discrimination amongst different consumers. All the three are jointly used by the government to prevent monopoly power. es, anti trust laws and regulations are used by the government to control monopoly power. The Christian ethics would confirm to the above solutions of the monopoly problem in the market.
