This would tarnish his image beyond repair, as not only would his sponsors take their hands off him, but also his advertising campaigns would go in for a toss.

That is, due to his admission of using steroids, his image of a solid baseball player would get tarnished and his fans would not see him as he is. He would appear to be a druggie and thus his demand in the advertisement industry would also get reduced drastically, as no company would want a celebrity with a tarnished image to endorse for them.
