This denotes that the more wealthier you get , the more tax you pay. This ensures the fairness in the tax system and the effort to reduce the income inequalities. In US , the top 20 % income group pays almost 29 % of the total federal income tax and poorest 20 % pay almost 5.5% of federal taxes. Hence this is kind of fair approach towards the society and ensures that people are charged fairly based upon their income levels.
