Homework Answers

Answer #1

There are two cases in this question.

There will be greater chances of having K as the first letter than having K letter in the third place in any word if the person tries to find these words in her memory. Thus most of us think that finding a word with K as a first letter is easy as due to years of practice, a person can easily find the word starting with K rather hand searching a word having K as the third letter. Thus most of us will conclude that finding word having the first letter as K is easy.

If a person in place of searching in his or her memory, look into the dictionary, he or she will find more words having the third letter as K and thus the person would have concluded that it is easier to find the word having K as the third letter.
