Public opinion always have a large impact on people choice of leaders as public opinion will create a influence in the minds of the people that these people may win. Most of the time people will have an ideaology that people who have got public opinion will have good choices of winning and this will influence people choice. Media will also give a good coverage to the public opinion by keeping debates and programs which will make the people to see which candidate got how much of public support. All these factors influence the choice of people in selecting candidates. So public opinion will have a large impact on people choice of candidates.
