Sven Beckert a historian, is professor of history at Hardvard University. He is the auther of "Empire of Cotton: A global history (2014)" in which he explained about the interconnection between the history of cotton, slavery and capitalism. In this book he used term “war capitalism”.
According to Beckert War capitalism means dominance of cotton merchants which leads to conflict between capitalists and labours. To increase their production capitalists increased the exploitation of labours or slaves. This increasing exploitation by capitalists to increase their profit paved ways for the war between capitalists and slaves. This war or conflict was the base for industrial revolution.
