It can be if you are unhappy with this, the foremost reason could be the loss of pay according to the laws of Alberta Canada, a 44 hour week can be worked by the person so that you can search for an alternative job on Fridays that can actually pay you you so that it you will work and get the wages as per the extra hours worked. If that is not possible you can just go to the other employees and if everyone is having the same problem then you can approach the management regarding the same. Even if this doesn't work out, you can negotiate regarding the wages with your employer by understanding him about the profitability and the productivity of the workers in the organisation
