If an employee needs to take a leave to care for a sick family member, should his or her employer offer partial pay, continue insurance benefits or grant the leave even if it places the employer in a difficult financial situation? Justify and support your views, including how to pay for these benefits. Include examples
The employer should first try to accomodate the employee with his or her leave balance. If that is not an option then the employer should grant leave as per the organizational policy and adjust the salary payment accordingly. If the employer faces a diffcult financial situation then an option of arranging help with a reasonable cost can be arranged for the employee to stay at the office. This move would be justified if the expenses of care taken are less than the money value of the employee being in the office.
