Pros: Writing grants mean applying for non repayabe fund, which mean we have to convince the fund provider we have good credibility. In this case, seeking for good partner organization means you have a friend to support your company. For example, the ecosystem of commercial banks which includes their rainmakers and the supplier and customers of the rainmakers help bank to sustain their financial situation in long term, now give them credit to win a subsidy from government for construction project. This gives a comparative advantage compared to a bank without eco-system

Cons: If the partner collapsed, the involved parties will also be in threat.
