Barriers of global flows are government applied restrictions on international trade. It can be import licenses, export licenses, non tarrif barriers to trade etc.

For example we can examine the trade barriers of US. US restricted some trade activities with North korea, Iran and Syria for some security reasons.

The WTO defined trade facilitation as " The simplification and harmonisation of international trade procedures."

We can see trade facilitation support program (TFSP) of world bank for example. The program supports client countries for cross border trade and its planning and design.
