Answer #1

answer :

Slavery: is a system where an individual or group of individuals are owned by others. It is a form of forced labour.

The south held on to slavery because of following reasons :

  • the economy would collapse if the slavery system will be ended suddenly as slave labor was base of the economy
  • end of slavery will create large unemployment
  • the end of slavery system will reduce the profits of slave owners so the influential owners does not let the system go.

the money behind slavery: slavery system is beneficial for their owners as they make their labours work for many hours but does not pay them enough or even does not pay anything at all. They earn profits but does give anything to their slaves.
