- Talk about the ethical considerations of using "fear" as an appeal in the advertising of complexion medication among teenagers.
I think it is not ethical at all. Companies uses advertisement and portray an ideal type of complexion and then they claim that by using their product, anyone can achieve that. It doesn't remain a mere ad but it creates a sense of of inferiority complex in the mind if people who doesn't have that "ideal" complexion. This reduces their self confidence which shows in their overall productivity, as it reduces drastically.
Everyone has fear of looking ugly, and this is what they uses to sell their product. But as fear has no boundaries, one things leads to other very fast. Hence, positive ads must be shown and made unlike one portraying fear.
