How does Technology work itself into LRAS? (4 Points)

If there is hurricane, how can this translate itself into the short run aggregate supply curve (draw the curve, noting both SRAS and AD and the Y and P and equilibrium)? (2Points)

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Technology work with LRAS because , the technology is the factor of production , when factor of production changes , the LRAS changes .and technology is the big factor that cause movement in the LRAS curve. when the technology improves or upgrade, then the LRAS shifts to the rights and hence economy potential GDP increase and when technology being worse, then the LRAS curves shifts to the left and hence potential GDP decrease.

if there is a hurricane, then the short run aggregate supply curve will shift to the left because of the decrease in the supply in the market.

Consider the AD-AS model, with the AD curve derived from the quantity theory of money. Suppose the economy is initially in long-run equilibrium, when there is a sudden rise in demand for real balances for any given level of output, and simultaneously also an improvement in productive technology that permanently increases how much firms can produce with any given amount of the factors of production. (a) Immediately following these shocks, what happens to velocity? To the AD curve? The LRAS...

In the country of Eastland the level of potential output is $800 billion. The short-run aggregate supply curve is given by SRAS. The economy is currently in short-run equilibrium where the price level is 5. Part 1: Use the infinite line tool to draw the long-run aggregate supply curve and label it LRAS. a. Consider a positive AD shock (i.e. increase in the AD curve) hitting the economy. First, give examples of such a shock. Second, use the AS/AD diagram to show both the short-run and long- run effects of the shock.
