Answer #1

Objective of the comedy is to create humor and let people laugh so that they unwind themselves and their subconscious mindset gets relaxed. This objective of comedy, faces impediment when a serious topic is taken up during the comedy. Due to these serious topics, people start correlating it with their own issues and become serious. As a result, the whole efforts of the comedian go in vain and objective of the comedy will not be achieved. It is the reason that light topics that can create humor, are carefully selected for the purpose of comedy. Hence, serious topics are not considered for the purpose of comedy as it has the potential to create overburden of negative emotions in the audience, rather making them laugh.
