Explain the consensus perspective

Homework Answers

Answer #1

In most simple terms, it can be considered as a persepctive that argues for continuation of social order in the society. It takes all the necessary measures that are in the common interest of the people. The theory postulates that there is an inherent tendency in every society whereby it considers it significant to maintain itself in a state of relative equilibrium.

This is determined by its members who mutually interact with other in accordance with their principal institutions. It deviates itself from the conflicting perspective where all members have mutual agreement to a decision and conflict is avoided all the time. It is also called functionalism.
