Answer #1

There are other reasons also E. G wage differentials are due to hazardous nature of jobs. Often women do not work in such jobs.

Similarly many women in developing countries for example do not posses as much human capital as women. This also results in wage differences

Similarly there is less women participation in sports where wages tend to be high due to uncertain nature of career

Women also are over represented in low paying jobs

No pay for no work during delivery also results in less income. They are likely to take time out for caretaking of children etc. This depresses wages

Use the methods learned this week to test this hypothesis. Make sure you go through the 6-step process of testing the hypothesis....

A group of sociologists conducted an analysis of the gender gap in faculty salaries. Data consistently indicate how women faculty members earn less than their male counterparts. Differences have been attributed to individual difference, as well as employer and institutional discrimination. For their analysis the sociologists obtained salary data on 158 men and 148 women, randomly chosen, from a large public research university. Men were estimated to earn an average of $42,340 with a standard deviation of $9,639.19, while women...
