A country in a temperate climate (and so it experiences the four seasons) uses flower petals as money. In what season will this country experience inflation? Deflation?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

In the season of spring the flowers bloom and the supply of flowers is at its maximum. Since inflation occurs when there is excessive of money in the economy and here this country is using flower petals as money, therefore this country will experience inflation in the season of spring because in this season we will have the excessive supply of flowers.

In the season of autumn most of the flowers fall. Deflation occurs when there is reduction in money supply. Since the availability of flowers will be very low in the season of autumn, therefore this country will experience deflation in the season of autumn.
