With the baby boom generation continuing to retire from the labor force, the proportion of retirees to labor force would increase. This will put a major strain on the social security program, as the beneficiaries would exceed the working ones.

As a result of this, the burden on the social security program would increase, as the dependents increase in number over the earning members.

The solution to this demographic change would be to increase the retirement age and incentivizing companies to keep the old employees for a longer time, so that the burden on social security programs is distributed well.
