Two party system is a system where there are two parties contesting elections. One party is the rulling and other remains in the oppposition. One party forms the government, when wins in elections by majority votes.  Two-party systems promote centrism and encourage political parties to find common positions which appeal to wide swaths of the electorate. It can lead to political stability which leads, in turn, to economic growth.
