The reasons why someone cannot get a job are similar to the reasons why someone cannot get a date. Using the ideas of frictionally unemployed, structurally unemployed, and cyclically unemployed, describe and explain how a student at your university might be frictionally "undated," structurally "undated," and cyclically "undated."
Frictional unemployment is due to the time taken for the workers to find new job. Example- A student begins searching for a job. It takes 2 months to land a new job. During this time she is frictionally unemployed.
Structural unemployment is due to absence of demand for certain type of worker. It happens when there is a skill mismatch between the employer and the employee. Example, a student might have done engineering but may not have studied about a new technology revolution which is about artificial intelligence. His skills may be not useful to the employer and hence may remain unemployed.
Cyclical unemployment is due the business cycles. Example if there is a recession in the economy, a college student im his final year may not be able to get campus placement. In such a situation there is high unemployment.
