Should judges be appointed or elected? Explain

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Judges should bee appointed using a judicial selection commission that evakuates and recommends individuals to the governor for appointment. After 3-4 years of appointment, they should stand for retention election. Bar association should have some role in recommendation.

This also saves elction cost. Election and fundraising creates conflicts. Election depends on accountability of people.

Election creates the appearance of justice for sale.

So, appointment and then retention election is a better way.
