Intellectual property rights are considered as the negative rights as these rights exclude other from using inventions or other kind of creation. The intellectual property rights ensure the minimum profit for the creators of new invention or process. It increases investment activities of MNCs. The countries with low rate of intellectual property right compliance suffer the the problem of low rate of investment.

The countries must follow the guideline from the WTO. WTO is trying to to promote the intellectual property right protection across the countries. MNCs must lobby with government to make law and enforce the the strong intellectual property rights law. MNC can reduce the investment in the such countries where the violation of intellectual property right is high. Low investment will incentivise the country to make the law to protect the IPR.
