It can be mentioned that absolute quote can be the best attempt to protectionism and this is because of the fact that the import will be restricted without disruption in price which might not lead to a price war but reduces the amount of imports triggering demand for domestic goods. Subsidies can be regarded as the most costly affair because this actually incurs a cost to the government all in all where the government has to bear a certain burden in order to make the domestic industry flourish
