Parallel cinema movement is found as an alternative to hindi cinema in other languages where it's also amongst the most successful movements in Indian cinema where prominent personalities like Satyajit Ray were the part. It's also called Golden Age of Indian Cinema..it's highly influenced by the Indian Literature and movements in other place like France. However it hasn't been commercially successful throughout the country and that made or led to the downfall.
