• The given statement clearly states that government is being formed by the representative among the people itself and hence the statement that government of the people and by the people.
• As government job is to maintain the law and order and prosperity of its fellow citizens hence justifying the word government for the people.
• As the above statement has covered whole functionality and reason government is being formed so it captures the whole sense of government and their role in society.

Criticisms that might be raised by some thinkers such as Adam Smith, Karl Marx, John Stuart Mill, Burke, Hume are mentioned below:

• As representative of the government is selected by majority view, so it sometimes forces majority view over minority view.
• Above statement is true only in democratic form of government, and in communist and socialist form of government this may not hold 100% of the time.
• It also gives rise to corruption and bureaucracy which is very harmful for the development of the economy.
• It is also considered as most expensive form of government because a lot of money is being spent in conducting elections regularly.
