Under this Act, extend under respect of a label any application or attachment thereof, or any usage thereof, in connection with or in connection with (a) an article, (b) anything attached to an article, (c) anything to which an article is attached, (d) anything in or to which an article is attached, or (e) something so used or put as to give rise to a fair assumption that an article is attached to it.
It allows for the standardized definition and price labeling of gold, silver, platinum or palladium products to help customers make informed purchasing decisions. The Act forbids the production of false or misleading statements concerning articles of precious metal. It also requires dealers to do so as defined in the Act and Regulations, who choose to mark their articles with representations related to the previous metal quality.
Subject to subsection (1.1), an inspector may, at any appropriate time, enter any dealer's premises, request output for inspection of any precious metal articles on a dealer's premises, and seize any precious metal articles which the inspector considers to be identified on fair grounds other than under this Act and the regulations.
