Do you think medical care ought to be a service allocated in the market like any other good or service, where those who are willing and able to pay the prevailing market price will receive it, while those who are unwilling or unable to pay the current market price will not receive it? Or, do you think that medical care services should be allocated by some other means? If so, then by what means should medical care services be allocated?
Answer - According to my opinion , the medical care is the right of every citizen whether he has a lower income or higher. Hence I do not agree with the fact that price of medical care should only be determined by the market forces and it would be unaffordable for many of the seekers of medical care , specially those below the poverty line. Hence , there should be a government policy defining the ceilings in the market , reducing the equilibrium price and thus making the medical care affordable to all. Subsidized medical care can also be provided to those below the poverty line. This will ensure that no person has been left from the access to medical care.
