The 1965 Hart Cellar act is considered as most important landmark in US immigration because it changed the way quotas were allocating And allowed immigrants into America based on their working skills and relatives live in the US. As a result United states experienced a dramatic increase in immigrants from Hispanic, Caribbean and Asian countries since 1970s.

The 1980 refugee act also was paased in favor of immigrants. It states that any person in fear of persecution could apply to enter the united States. This act helped a mass number of Asians, Chinese, Hungarians to escape from the Communist regime in their countries and seek asylum in USA.
