What is the infrastructure gap in the local government? Also, describe what local governments could do to close that gap?

Answer #1

Infrastructure gap put simply is nothing but the gap between required infrastructure and the available economic infrastructure at the moment. The local governments are usually held responsible for these gaps. Ex: Electricity shortages, ineffective road facilities, etc.

So, what can the local governments do to bridge this gap?

  1. Make an agile infrastructure strategy keeping in mind the requirements of a state. Local governments need to be updated with regards to the people's growing needs.
  2. Take well read decisions using using analysis like B/C, NPV, etc. This will allow the government to review their choices of investment into infrastructure.
  3. Form a commission which overlooks the infrastructure projects and performs regular assessments in the effectiveness of the projects, and grant this commission autonomy.

Hope this helps. Do hit the thumbs up. Cheers!
