It can actually be mentioned that using the multiple items scale one can actually considered various factors into account such as ease of getting scholarship and how it is used, the number of people in the family, their earlier conditions etc, where all these factors are given weightae and normalised so that the satisfaction level depends on the weighted average of each of these factors.

In a single item scale, it can be mentioned that, only one factor is taken into account such as the financial amount where the satisfaction level is directly proportional to the amount given all in all.

I would prefer to use a multi item scale because there are many factors in reality that would affect the satisfaction level apart from a single factor and this tells importance of multi item scale all in all.
