Reuters was considered as empire within the British empire, because as British presence spread across the world, Reuters also made the presence in different parts of the world. The company was established in 1851 and by this time, Great Britain had acquisition and colonies across the globe. On a similar note, Reuters also spread fast and today, they have presence in more than 200 locations in the world, employing huge number of people. So, in one way, Reuters as a British company created empire within the British empire.
