The main agenda of the part was never major economic reforms in the form of tax cuts of states’ rights or to promote big business. The party ran on 3 principles as – anti slavery rights, economic reform in the form of laying infant industries tariff to promote growth of America and lastly religious reforms in terms of Protestants and Catholics.
