The governor of Texas has several powers some of them are 1st power governor is to sign and veto bills passed by the state legislature, 2nd power is to serve as commander-in-chief of the state's military forces, 3rd powers is to convene special sessions of the legislature, 4th power is to award reprieves and pardons, and 5th power is to fill vacant positions via appointment.
