Answer #1

Using your own words, briefly describe what social responsibility means to you personally.

In my opinion, Social Responsibility is extremely important because it is important to maximize shareholder value, but also communicate with the public to benefit society. Personally, if I see a business that is not helping society and not communicating with the public, I would not purchase anything the business has to offer. Therefor, the company will lose money and profits will go down.

Do you think business organizations should be socially responsible? Provide two (2) supporting facts to justify your response.

I believe business organizations should be socially responsible because most employees demand their company to be socially responsible and consumers expect better business practices. According to “ blogs.movingworlds.org “ 32 percent of employees will consider leaving their jobs if they did not donate to charity and 62 percent will consider leaving their job if it harms the environment. Also, 88 percent of consumers think business should achieve their business goals while improving society and the environment.

Do you think values-based management is just a "do-gooder" ploy? Provide one (1) supporting fact to justify your position.

I believe that valued based management is not just a do gooder ploy. Valued base management encourages employees to embrace the culture of the business and explain their values as they do their job.

To analyze the need to balance the interests of a variety of stakeholder groups, what questions should management ask? Provide four (4) questions.

  1. Does the stakeholder have a fundamental impact on your organization’s performance?
  2. Can you clearly identify what you want from the stakeholder?
  3. Is the relationship dynamic, in other words do you want it to grow?
  4. Can you exist without or easily replace the stakeholder?

How do managers misuse discipline? Provide two (2) examples.

Examples of managers misusing discipline include bullying and favoritism. Some managers can simply be bullying an employee just because they feel they are the ones in charge. Sometimes, If a manager likes a specific employee or is friends with an employee, the employee are more likely to get away with certain things than the regular worker would get away with.
