Puffery in advertisements is indeed a trend that usually companies use to hype their product. However the advertising messages such as "the sexiest sports car" and "the earth's most comfortable shoes" are advertisements which are actually perspective based and doesn't require any study as it's their perspective on their product. If they claim 2 of 3 people find my car the most sexiest, then it is puffery and line of deception is crossed as there is no proper evidence for that. That's the reason why the advertisements are merely puffery.
