what do you understand about unemployment rate among young graduates?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Young graduates lack work experience and at the time of fewer jobs available and more people willing to work, young graduates remain at a disadvantage. It happens because more experienced people are willing to work at the lower wage rates and it creates more unemployment among young graduates. So, comparatively, the unemployment rate is higher among young graduates.  It can make them opt for the part time works of few hours per week available to gain some valuable experience and they go for the full time job opportunities. Hence, the official unemployment rate, may consider them to be employed, but it is not the true representation and they can be underemployed at best.
