If you need a new machine and don’t buy it, you pay for it without getting the machine”.

Comment:

This statement basically states that when you need a new machine, you must buy it or else you will end up paying the maintenance, repairing charges. All these charges combined will amount to much more cost than the cost of buying a new machine. This is the reason why if you need a new machine and do not buy it, you pay for it without getting the machine. Similarly, with regard to using an outdated machine, you will waste time, energy, and money if you do not replace it.
