Railway in india was constructed and developed by the British Government. It was primarily developed to supply raw material from India to England and facilitating fast movement of army in event of any emergency. Through railways, raw materials were collected from different parts of country and were moved with help of train to sea ports. it massively drained out wealth of india. But there were positive effects also, it facilitated the integration of whole country. Now people found it easy to make movement across the country. Further, railways also played critical role in fanning up sentiments of nationalism. People from different parts interacted with each other and raised their voice against the British Government.
