1. Religion - What is important for a person, social issues pertaining to religion or say economic issues.
2. Demography - How do people around you feel about a politician or political party.
3. Family - Sometimes, peeople who uphold familiy values,tend to support the same idea that the previous generation must have supported
4. Past experiences - Your past associated with how you chose someone to run for public office will give you confidence whether you want to support him/her or not.

Social factors that encourage one to believe in democracy :
1. A fair election process where citizens have the power to choose their representative.
2. Citizens can participate in politics by running for a public office.
3. Freedom of speech and assembly
4. Right to be treated as an equal[The fact that one vote matters].
5. Individual rights and consent.
