There are a number of causes of increase in the health expenditure in the America such as improper information to consumers about health care, unnecessary tests, and overtreatment, new technology is expensive etc.

The main cause of the increased expenditure is the increase in the chronic conditions of people in America. Treatment of heart disease, diabetes, and asthma increases the cost. People are overweight and careless about their health which further increases the cost.
