Price skimming strategy is a way of fixing high the initial price for a product or service at the begining stage, then lowers the price over time. It is short term price yielding management. Sometime it may ride down the demand curve also.

If the producer do in such a way what happens, initially price was high, but when once its price reduces people will demand more of that commodity. Slowly again they may raise the price of the commodity. It is apricing method.
