The main cause of the dramatic increase in life expectancy is because of following reasons:-

( I ) Development of life - saving drugs due to advancement in schience and technology has enabled people to live longer on average than before.

( II ) Increase in availability of food has also ensured a better and healthy diet for an average person leading to a longer life expectancy.

( III ) Economic development has increased prosperity of the people, and they do not need to engage in life-threatening and dagerous professions to ean for their livelihood.
