How are code maintainability and simplicity related?

How are code maintainability and simplicity related?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The simple code are those which are easier to understand, simpler to implement, if we do simple designing during the development phase then it will become easier for us to understand these codes in future as well, simple codes helps to design the software in an easy manner and also it helps others to understand what the coder wants to do in the coding phase, if the code remain simple then the maintenance of the software will also become easier as the person who is maintaining the software will easily understood the codes written by the coder.

But if the codes are not simple then it become difficult for the person to clearly understood the code and maintain it properly, therefore code simplicity is directly proportional to the code maintainability.

1.  Link the definitions of NOPAT and FCF. Invoking extreme simplicity, how would you describe NOPAT to a colleague? How would you map FCF with respect to NOPAT, net fixed asset investment, and net working capital? 2. NOPAT and FCF are likely of limited use in a vacuum (i.e., one year). Accordingly, explain why ROIC, MVA, and EVA—and the historical trends thereof—are important performance metrics in a financial analysis exercise.
