If you are a programmer or a developer then Linux Operating System is far better than Windows because of following reasons:-

  • Open-Source:- Yes the key features of a Linux is that it is open source and freely available to the user whereas the windows operating system is not available freely. The license cost of windows is very costly for both desktops as well as server versions. Moreover a source code of a Windows is cannot editable as it is not available freely but in Linux we can download the source code of it and makes changing in it appropriately.
  • Reliabiliy:- Linux is more reliable as compare to windows because in regular updates of linux will released from time to time and our most of the software company will work on this operating system.
  • Security:- Since in the real wold most of the applications are built for windows which when installed in the windows environment then they may brings virus such as trojans, etc. with them which are spread in all over the internet. But in linux we always work with commands and those commands are more reliable because they only do specific task for them.
  • Learning:- If you are a learner or a student in a technical field then linux is a great free environment where a student learn in-depth concepts of operating System. I have also installed the linux during throught my graduation which taught me a lot about how actually a OS work.
  • In-Demand:- Linux is in demand operating system which is mostly used in the software industry. Our ethical hackers are work on this operating system and they can even hack windows OS from their Linux environment.
  • Privacy:- Many times Microsoft was criticise for how it manipulates the data of user and kept it in their databases, So user needs to various software to protect their data while in Linux system it doesn't require any personal data of the user. Moreover it also not required to install any other software to prevent data.
  • Hardware:- When we talk about hardware requirements then our Linux OS reuires less RAM,Storage etc. as compare to Windows a due to its command line interface.
  • Unexprected crashes:- If you have worked in windows then you definitely come up with the unexpected crashes during working but personally when I worked on Linux I never faced such crashes abruptly till now Linux provides a great environment where we can easily code, deploy as well as manage them efficiently.
