  1. All the ports at the root switch are the designated ports or the root ports. So any of the ports that are neither of the both that is not a root port or the designated port then those ports are blocked as to prevent any type of looping to happen in the connection or the flow of transmission.
  2. The requirement for any switch to become the root switch os that it should have the lowest BID (Bridge ID's) as whichever switch has the lowest BID that means it has the highest or better priority than others. If the BID of all the switches are same than we lowest MAC address of the switches and the one with the lowest MAC address wins.
