The FIA (Federation Internationale Automobile) keeps track of claims of Formula 1 teams when incidents happen during races. Draw an EERD based on the description below: An incident is assigned a unique incident number; an opening date, a date when the incident is closed, and FIA officials’ decision description are also kept on each claim. A claim is usually brought by one team or driver but it happens that several teams or drivers join to bring a claim. (e.g. Teams Renault and Williams brought a case that Team Force India’s new “stegosaurus fin” was not up to regulations.) We will call a team or driver that brings a claim a plaintiff (in our example both Renault and Williams are plaintiffs). A team or driver can be a plaintiff in many claims because incidents happen at every race and even several incidents can occur in the same race (e.g. Williams also brought a claim against Force India’s driver Esteban Ocon because he hit one of their car during the last race). A plaintiff has a requested FIA decision characteristic (e.g. grid penalty for the next race). A claim is against one or more defendants (e.g. Force India brought a claim at the last Grand Prix because several teams artificially dried their starting spot on the grid, which is against regulation). The same defendant may be involved in many claims. As seen in the different examples, a plaintiff or a defendant may be a driver or a team. Over time, the same driver or team may be a defendant or a plaintiff in claims (e.g. Force India is the plaintiff in the “drying up the grid” claim but the defendant in the “stegosaurus fin” claim). In either situation, a driver or a team is identified by an entity number, and another attribute is the name.
